About WhatsApp

Editors Review
The only problem we have with WhatsApp is that it lacks video calling support, which pretty much all of its main competitors have. Other than that, WhatsApp is an extremely competent messaging service, with great call quality, rapid messaging, and strong group and broadcast messaging and multimedia features.
WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile communications app developed by WhatsApp Inc.

WhatsApp Messenger makes use of your mobile data plan or Wi-Fi connection to communicate with other users through voice calls and text messages, without incurring MMS, SMS, or voice call charges.

WhatsApp Messenger
is free for the first year of use, then costs $0.99 per year to use, virtually free compared to carrier charges for call minutes and texts.. The app is free even when calling international users, and works on any internet connection regardless of location, saving on roaming charges or international call costs.

WhatsApp creates an account using your phone number, which removes the need to create a username and password that must be memorized, and also facilitates quick adding of your existing address book contacts who have already signed up with WhatsApp. The app stays logged in once you've completed the signup process, and you'll be notified of missed messages and calls while offline, whenever you go back online.

WhatsApp also allows for group chats, where multiple contacts can chat all at the same time, and broadcast messages to multiple contacts. You can also quickly share photos, videos, and voice messages with contacts.
