About Mozilla Thunderbird

Editors Review
With extensive customizability through third-party extensions, that can do anything from change themes to add OpenPGP encryption to every email, Thunderbird is a revelation in the world of email clients. It's a solid alternative to Outlook or other software by any respects, and in some ways surpasses it.
Thunderbird is a free email client and newsreader available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating systems. It is an open-source project by Mozilla, creator of the popular Firefox web browser, and is primarily designed as an alternative to Microsoft Outlook.

allows users to manage and aggregate multiple email accounts using the POP3 or IMAP standard, and automatically and transparently filter out spam mail. Thunderbird also supports tabbed viewing, themes, and even a wide variety of third-party extensions that add to the software’s functionality.

The client also includes security features that can prevent images within emails from loading automatically, disable execution of JavaScript, and block certain content types from appearing.
Extensions like Enigmail add support for OpenPGP public-key encryption, ensuring the privacy of emails sent through Thunderbird.

Thunderbird also acts as a news aggregator that allows users to "subscribe" to websites that feature RSS or Atom.
