About MINIX 3

MINIX 3 is an open-source Unix-Like operating system, developed by Andrew S. Tanenbaum.

The main goal of the MINIX 3 project is for the system to be fault-tolerant by detecting and repairing its own faults on the fly, without user intervention. It is loosely based on early version of MINIX, but different in many ways. MINIX 3 adds the new goal of being usable as a serious system on resource-limited and embedded computers and for applications requiring high reliability.
