About Mozilla Thunderbird

Editors Review
A long time staple and brand is Mozilla Thunderbird. An alternative to Microsoft Outlook is Mozilla Thunderbird. It is lighter, faster, efficient and a more user friendly email client than others. It has a lot of features and customizations for that personal touch.
Thunderbird is a free email client and newsreader available for later versions of Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating systems. It’s an open-source project related to Mozilla’s popular Firefox web browser, and is primarily designed as an alternative to Microsoft Outlook.

Like any other decent email client, Thunderbird can manage multiple email accounts using the POP3 or IMAP standard and filter out spam mail. Aside from these basic features, Mozilla’s offering also supports tabbed viewing, extensions that add to the software’s functionality, and even themes. Designed from the ground-up to support localization, Thunderbird is available in at least 37 languages.

The user can also activate security features that prevent images within emails from loading automatically, disable Javascript, and allow only certain kinds of content to appear. A Thunderbird extension allows the user to add support for public key encryption.

Thunderbird also doubles as a news aggregator that the user can use to “subscribe” to websites that support RSS feeds.
